Community Altenkirchen – an attractive place to live & work

The community of Altenkirchen lies in the so-called “Drei-Länder-Eck“ (triangle)of North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate and Hessen. It belongs to the multi-faceted economic, labour & recreational-orientated region between the industrial conurbations of Rhein-Ruhr and Rhein-Main. About 134,000 people live in 8 local communities with the town of Herdorf being the most northerly community in the Rhineland-Palatinate. Geographically speaking, it binds together the areas known as Siegerland with Westerwald and Bergischen Land.
